WHS Graduates Making Their Mark – Class of ‘93 Jason Lamin: ‘I decided I’d bet on myself.’

Winnsboro High School graduate Jason Lamin says his mother, Marylin Skeen Lamin, instilled the idea of global citizenship in him and his younger brother, Jeremy. His parents met while on an agriculture project in the same village in Sierra Leone. Lamin is found and managing partner of Lenox Park, LLC, a New York City-based investment management-related consulting service. He has been a featured speaker at Children’s Aid Society of Harlem, is a member of the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Policy and the founder of the Nyawa Funding Group, a non-profit organization with a mission to improve the living standards in Sierra Leone. In May, Lamin, a 1998 graduate of The University of Texas, returned to his alma mater to give the commencement speech at the UT Department of Economics in Liberal Arts. (Courtesy Photo)
